This week’s fencer of the week is Brandon Butler! Brandon is a foil fencer at Drexel, but he has also graduated from Drexel with a degree in international business and economics! He might have graduated early but still comes to practice every day to prepare for championships.

I have known Brandon my entire time I’ve been at fencing, and I can without a doubt say he has been one of the best influences on me. Brandon is level-headed and passionate about the sport, but he doesn’t let things bother him. I aspire to be like that and always look to him for example. Brandon has taught me how much fun fencing can be because of the people around you. He is a team player, a leader, and a supporter all in one. I respect his opinion so much, and I still has much to learn from him to be a better leader and just overall people-person. Freshman me is so drastically different than current me, and I hope he knows he had a hand in that change He has brought so much character to the team, and I am so sad to see him go. We will be missing the most fabulous team member, but I and all the foil squad wish him the best for the future.
