Thank you so much to Rowan University for fencing with us this weekend. All of our fencers had so much fun, and it was a great learning opportunity for those who have just started. To recap, this scrimmage was set up for 5 hours of fencing! We did a team match for a “warm up” and had an individual tournament to finish off the day.
For those unfamiliar with the format, an team match features a round robin style format where teams of 3 fencers will fence the other team of 3 fencers in bouts of 5. Individual tournaments are set up with a set of pools where all fencers in a pool will fence each other in bouts of 5, and then enter DEs where fencers will fence in bouts of 15. In DEs, once you lose, you are out of the tournament. It was certainly a grueling but extremely fun day.
Below are the results of our scrimmage!
