This week’s fencer of the week is Brandon Leong! Brandon is a mechanical engineering student at Drexel University, captain of the epee squad, and overall squad leader. He has been a great leader to us all and personally, someone I am so grateful to know in my life.
Brandon’s co-captain, Dana Coyle, adds that Brandon is the type of person that will tell you what you need to hear to get be better and not be scared to. Despite that, he is always the loudest person cheering for you on strip and puts respect for the sport before winning. He helped Dana learn to love tournaments again and help new fencers the deeper intricities of fencing.
Brandon is a wonderful captain and a great friend I am eternally blessed to have. He is well-respected among his peers at the club and we all will remember him fondly as we fence. We wish Brandon the best as we approach finals weeks and face all of our fears.
